Welcome to my daily photoblog. This is the section of my website where you can get to know me a bit better and see some of the personal work I produce on a (almost)daily basis. Any time I’m not working I’m out shooting and trying to learn as much as possible about this artform.
My favourite photographers are a mixture of old and new.. People like Henri Bresson, Ansel Adams, Dave Hill, Tom Hoops, Christian Schmidt. Romantic painters such as Caspar David Friedrich and Eugène Delacroix also inspire me, as well as people I just stumble across on Flickr. Everyone has at least one great image you can take something from. Some of my best lessons have been learned searching for pictures similar to mine in pose or location or lighting, and trying to see what they did different/better, and then incorporating that into my next shot.
I don’t really have a particular style yet, I think that comes with age and experience. You’ll see quite a large variation in my work, the finished product is always dependant on my mood at the time of processing. Mostly I just try to create pictures that people like to look at for whatever reason. I lean towards moody and dark imagery and have a particular passion for anything related to decay.
